The membership fee is an actuarially-calculated flat rate that is combined with comprehensive and collision fees, which are based on the vehicle's seating capacity and the deductible chosen by the vanpool operator. Operators may choose a $250 or a $500 physical damage deductible. The annual membership fee may vary based upon the claim experience of the pool, projected costs and industry-wide experience.
